Minister, civic officials join awareness rally in dengue prevention drive

Newz Desk, Asansol: With the aim of raising public awareness about dengue prevention and strengthening community participation in controlling the spread of the disease, an awareness rally was organised in Asansol on Saturday.

The rally was attended by West Bengal Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Minister Agnimitra Paul and Asansol Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dilip Mishra, along with health and sanitation workers of the civic body.

The rally began from Ramsayer Maidan and proceeded towards the Mahishila area, covering different parts of the locality. Through the campaign, civic officials and workers urged residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent dengue.

During the awareness drive, people were encouraged to keep their surroundings clean and prevent the accumulation of stagnant water, which can become a breeding ground for dengue mosquitoes. The initiative also highlighted the importance of maintaining proper sanitation and seeking medical attention if symptoms associated with dengue appear.

The participation of municipal health and sanitation workers was aimed at strengthening the civic body’s ongoing dengue prevention efforts and taking the message of disease prevention directly to residents.The administration urged citizens to work together with the civic authorities and maintain cleanliness around their homes and neighbourhoods to help keep dengue under control.
