Newz Desk, Durgapur: At an age when most children are busy discovering their interests, 10-year-old Aradhya Dhibar is already making her mark on the international sporting arena. The Class IV student of Delhi Public School (DPS), Durgapur, has brought laurels to India by clinching four medals at the World Kickboxing Championship held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Displaying exceptional skill and fighting spirit, Aradhya secured one gold, one silver and two bronze medals in six events in the Younger Category. She competed against 3,043 participants from nearly 50 countries, making her achievement a remarkable feat for the young sportsperson.

Her international success was celebrated by DPS Durgapur, which organised a special felicitation ceremony to honour the young champion. The school principal and management applauded her determination, discipline and perseverance, while acknowledging the crucial role played by her parents in nurturing her sporting journey.
Behind this success also lies an initiative aimed at making sports and education go hand in hand. The management of OM DAYAL GROUP has sponsored Aradhya’s education under the Sports Quota, recognising her potential and extending support to her academic and sporting aspirations.
DPS Durgapur claims to be the first school in the city to introduce admissions under the Sports Quota along with educational sponsorship for talented sportspersons. The initiative seeks to provide promising athletes with an opportunity to pursue their sporting dreams without compromising on education.
Aradhya’s achievement is more than a medal-winning performance. It is a testament to how early encouragement, determination and institutional support can help young talent cross boundaries and shine on the global stage. For Durgapur, the 10-year-old champion has certainly given another reason to celebrate.
