Newz Desk, Asansol: Reinforcing its commitment to community healthcare, India Power Corporation Limited (IPCL) organised a free multi-specialty health check-up camp on Sunday at Kalyanpur Housing in Asansol under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, “Swasth Samriddhi.”
The camp was conducted in collaboration with the Kolkata-based Hindol Welfare Society and brought together a team of experienced doctors from reputed hospitals in Kolkata and Asansol, supported by trained paramedical staff.
Nearly 200 residents benefited from the initiative, receiving free specialist consultations in Cardiology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics and General Medicine. The camp also offered free health screenings, ECG tests and the distribution of essential medicines, ensuring comprehensive primary healthcare services for the local community.
Asansol North MLA Krishnendu Mukherjee attended the camp as the chief guest and appreciated the initiative aimed at improving access to quality healthcare. During his visit, he also underwent a routine blood pressure check-up.

Speaking on the occasion, Somesh Dasgupta, CEO of India Power Corporation Limited, said the company’s CSR-backed medical camps have continued to expand their reach year after year, enabling healthcare services to reach a larger number of beneficiaries.
“We ensure that these camps are organised in areas where access to healthcare facilities is limited, particularly in underserved and backward regions that require greater social attention. Through these initiatives, India Power continues to provide essential healthcare services while creating awareness about preventive healthcare,” he said.
The health camp is part of India Power’s ongoing efforts to improve community well-being through accessible healthcare and preventive medical awareness, especially among underserved sections of society.
