Newz Desk, Durgapur: September 26: Delhi Public School (DPS), Durgapur celebrated its 11th Annual Prize Day, ‘Reverence’, at Srijani Auditorium on Saturday, honouring students for excellence in academics, sports, cultural activities and various co-curricular pursuits.
The programme was attended by Ponnambalam S., IAS, District Magistrate, and Vivek Kumar, IAS, CEO, ADDA, as Chief Guests, along with Guest of Honour Alexandra Taylor, British-Irish model, actress and former Miss Ireland. Along with Dr. Sanjiv Agarwal, Pro Vice-Chairman, Delhi Public School, Mr. Sagar Agarwal, Secretary, Om Dayal Educational & Research Society. The dignitaries congratulated the students for their achievements and encouraged them to pursue their goals with discipline, confidence and responsibility. The ceremony began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by performances by the school choir and a Fusion presentation. Principal Umesh Ch. Jaiswal stressed that Prize Day celebrates not only awards but also the effort, perseverance, discipline and values behind every achievement.
The Annual School Magazine ‘SHADES’ was also released during the event. Students who excelled in academics, sports, cultural activities and other fields were felicitated for their accomplishments.
A major attraction of the programme was the dance drama ‘Navarasa – Shades of Soul’, which blended classical expression, music, movement and storytelling to showcase the students’ creativity and artistic talent.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by School Head Girl Devanshi Chakraborty. Through ‘Reverence’, DPS Durgapur reaffirmed its focus on holistic education and nurturing confident, compassionate and responsible young individuals.
