Newz Desk, Durgapur/Andal: Panic gripped the Bishweshwari Moyra Depot Para area of Andal on Saturday morning after the blood-soaked body of a homemaker was found near the entrance of her house. The woman, identified as Taradevi Bhuiya, was found with a deep injury mark on her neck, raising suspicions of murder.
According to preliminary information, Taradevi’s body was recovered from her residence in the morning. On receiving the information, personnel from Andal police station reached the spot. ACP Andal Deep Kumar Das also visited the site and took stock of the situation.
Police suspect that the woman may have been killed after being struck with a heavy object. However, the disappearance of her husband, Tapan Dom, immediately after the incident has added to the mystery surrounding the case.
Neighbours reportedly said that Tapan was Taradevi’s second husband. Police are now investigating whether marital discord could have played a role in the suspected murder or whether there was another reason behind the incident. The circumstances surrounding the husband’s disappearance are also being examined.
Police have launched an investigation and a search is underway to trace the missing husband. Investigators are also trying to reconstruct the events leading up to the incident and determine the possible motive.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Police said the exact cause of death and other crucial details are expected to become clearer after the post-mortem report is received.
The recovery of a woman’s bloodied body from a residential area early in the morning has caused fear and shock among local residents. Police are now trying to piece together what happened inside the house and establish who was responsible for Taradevi’s death.
