Newz Desk, Durgapur, 12th August 26: In a bid to improve road safety and curb traffic violations, the Muchipara Traffic Guard and Bidhannagar Outpost conducted a special enforcement drive along the road connecting Mission Hospital and Shankarpur.
During the drive, traffic personnel took action against vehicles found parked illegally along the roadside, which were reportedly causing obstruction and disrupting the smooth movement of traffic. Motorists travelling without helmets were also stopped and fined for violating road safety regulations.
The enforcement drive was aimed at discouraging illegal parking and promoting compliance with traffic rules, particularly the mandatory use of helmets by two-wheeler riders.
Police officials said such drives would help maintain traffic discipline and ensure safer movement for commuters and pedestrians along the busy stretch. Motorists were also urged to follow traffic regulations and avoid parking vehicles in unauthorised areas.
