Newz Desk, Durgapur: Delhi Public School (DPS) Durgapur marked its 10th Annual Prize Day, Reverence 2025, on 25 September at the Srijani auditorium in City Centre, with nearly 800 students showcasing performances in music, dance, drama, and costume.
The Chief Guest for the evening was Aditi Chaudhary, IAS, a 2014-batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service. An MTech in Biotechnology, Chaudhary has previously served as Assistant Secretary in the Department of Telecommunications, SDO in Canning, ADM in South 24 Parganas and Hooghly, Joint Secretary in Transport, and Special Secretary in the Women & Child Development and Social Welfare Department. Sanjiv Agarwal, Vice-Chairman of Om Dayal Educational & Research Society, was among the eminent guests present at the evening. He praised the students’ participation and achievements, and in his address urged them to dream big.

Celebrating student achievements
The evening opened with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a welcome song by the school choir, in the presence of parents, faculty members, alumni, and guests.
As many as 563 students were felicitated for excellence across academics, sports, and co-curricular activities. Awards were distributed in categories including academic excellence, sports achievements, cultural contributions, as well as special recognition. Presenting the Annual Report, Principal Umesh Chand Jaiswal emphasised the milestones and achievements of Delhi Public School, Durgapur.
Cultural performance and finale
The cultural highlight of the day was the dance drama The Jungle Book – A Story in Shades and Shadows, based on Rudyard Kipling’s classic. The performance, with its message of rewilding, biodiversity support, and environmental preservation, left the audience captivated.
The event concluded with a ‘vote of thanks’ delivered by Head Girl Sohana Roy Burman, who acknowledged the contributions of organisers, performers, guests, and staff. The ceremony ended with the national anthem, leaving the audience inspired and cheerful.
