Newz Desk, Bardhaman/Kanakpur: On the auspicious occasion of Rakhi Purnima, a special programme aimed at promoting harmony, brotherhood and unity in society was organised at Kanakpur Primary School by the social organisation ‘Sahajjer Hat’. The event featured a drawing competition along with a quiz, songs and poetry performances.
A total of 46 children from Kanakpur and neighbouring villages participated in the drawing competition. The competition was conducted in three categories to encourage creativity and nurture the artistic talents of children. The first, second and third position holders in each category were felicitated with prizes.

The programme was attended by Berugram Panchayat Executive Dibyendu Sarkar, Assistant Sandeep Malik, noted drawing teacher Prashanta Santra, along with several senior citizens and prominent members of the village. Their presence added significance and enthusiasm to the occasion.
As part of the Rakhi Purnima celebrations, rakhis were tied on the wrists of all those present at the event. The initiative conveyed a message of love, brotherhood, harmony and unity, while emphasising the importance of rising above differences of caste, religion and community.
Members of ‘Sahajjer Hat’ said that the initiative was aimed not only at encouraging children’s creativity and talent but also at fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect, goodwill and harmony among people from all sections of society. The organisation also expressed its commitment to continuing various social and humanitarian activities and standing by people in need in the days ahead.
With the enthusiastic participation of children, the blessings of elders and the involvement of people from across the community, the Rakhi Purnima celebration turned into a meaningful gathering that highlighted the values of harmony, humanity and togetherness.
