Newz Desk, Durgapur : Bharti Airtel has announced the launch of “Airtel Priority Postpaid,” a new service aimed at delivering a more consistent and seamless mobile experience for customers, especially in crowded and high-traffic areas where network congestion often impacts connectivity.
The telecom major said the service is powered by advanced 5G network slicing technology, a capability already being used in several Western countries. With this latest upgrade, Airtel seeks to ensure smoother video calls, faster email downloads, and uninterrupted uploads even during peak network usage situations such as traffic jams, busy marketplaces, concerts, and public events.
According to Airtel, the Priority Postpaid service has been specially designed for postpaid users and works by enhancing network efficiency through dedicated slicing capabilities on Airtel’s 5G Stand Alone (SA) network.
In a message to customers, Airtel India Managing Director and CEO Shashwat Sharma said the company had been working to address customer concerns regarding inconsistent mobile performance in congested zones.
“Slicing essentially enhances the network, thereby allowing us to offer this extra capability exclusively to our Postpaid Priority customers,” Sharma stated.
Airtel informed that the Priority Postpaid feature will be automatically available to existing postpaid subscribers across all Airtel postpaid plans. Prepaid users can switch to postpaid through the Airtel app or by visiting the nearest Airtel store.
To access the service, customers need a 5G Stand Alone-enabled smartphone running the latest software version. Airtel has also introduced a phone readiness diagnostic feature on its app to help users check device compatibility for Priority services.
Industry experts believe the move reflects the growing adoption of advanced 5G capabilities in India’s telecom sector, with operators increasingly focusing on premium network experiences and differentiated services for customers.
