Newz Desk, Durgapur: Celebrated playback singer Sonu Nigam is set to open his Deewana Tera Tour in Guwahati on 14 December, marking his first-ever solo concert in the city, an official statement said on Tuesday.
Despite performing across India and around the world for more than three decades, Nigam has only appeared once before on a Guwahati stage—at an awards ceremony years ago. That event became memorable for him as he shared the stage with the late Assamese music icon Zubeen Garg, a moment the singer described as “irreplaceable” in his life.
Organisers said the upcoming show will feature Nigam performing a repertoire of his most loved Bollywood hits along with select tracks from his independent music projects. The concert is expected to draw a massive turnout, with fans from across the Northeast anticipated to attend.
The Deewana Tera Tour, named after Nigam’s landmark 1999 album, is scheduled to travel to multiple cities across India after its opening in Guwahati.
