SAIL–Tata Steel JV Targets SME Export Growth with Cross-Border Payment Launch

Newz Desk, Durgapur: In a move aimed at simplifying international trade for Indian businesses, mjunction services ltd — a 50:50 joint venture between Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) and Tata Steel — has launched a new cross-border payment solution designed to ease global transactions for exporters.

The solution is tailored for enterprises registered on rivexa, mjunction’s B2B cross-border trade platform, which focuses on helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) expand their footprint in global markets. By integrating streamlined payment features, mjunction aims to address one of the biggest hurdles faced by exporters: secure, transparent, and timely international payments.

According to company officials, the new system will enable exporters to execute and receive payments with greater efficiency, reducing delays and mitigating the risks associated with cross-border transactions. Rivexa, launched earlier as mjunction’s global trade facilitation platform, connects Indian suppliers with buyers across multiple countries, offering services such as logistics support, quality checks, compliance assistance and now, integrated payments.

The company believes that this addition will significantly enhance India’s SME export ecosystem, which often struggles with high transaction costs, complex documentation and unreliable payment channels.

“With this payment solution, we aim to empower Indian businesses—especially small and medium suppliers—by giving them faster, safer and more accessible options for international trade,” an mjunction spokesperson said.

The initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision to strengthen India’s export competitiveness and support digital-driven trade facilitation.

More features and partnerships for rivexa are expected to be rolled out in the coming months as mjunction expands its role in bridging Indian suppliers with global demand.
