Postal Department Launches Major Drive for Aadhaar Enrolment of Children

Newz Desk, Durgapur: India Post has launched a nationwide initiative to create and update Aadhaar cards for children, aiming to complete Aadhaar enrolment for all individuals aged 5 to 15 years by 14 November 2026. The department is also beginning fresh Aadhaar enrolment for adults, officials announced at a press conference.

According to Postal Division, the work will be carried out at every post office in the district, which currently has 118 Aadhaar centres in Paschim Bardhaman. The Postal Department will also request schools to allow Aadhaar-related services on campus, enabling students to get their Aadhaar cards created or corrected without visiting a post office.

Aadhaar updates for children will be completely free of cost. For adults, government-fixed charges for Aadhaar creation or correction will apply. If anyone faces Aadhaar-related issues through post office services, complaints may be submitted online or in writing.
