Newz Desk, Durgapur : Ahead of the upcoming Saraswati Puja, the DPC Saraswati Puja Celebration Committee has announced a special photography exhibition and competition titled ‘My Click’. The event will be held at the Durgapur Press Club building on January 23 and 24, 2026, from 4 pm to 7 pm.

The initiative aims to encourage creativity and showcase photographic talent. The competition is open-themed, allowing participants to submit creative photographs depicting life in Durgapur, festivals, or any other subject.
However, photography in restricted and prohibited areas is strictly barred. Images taken inside industrial zones of Durgapur such as steel plants, restricted dam areas, CISF-protected locations, military cantonments, Air Force stations, or any defence-related zones will not be accepted. All participants must adhere to government and legal regulations.
The contest is open to all Indian citizens irrespective of caste, religion, or gender. Participants below 18 years of age must submit parental consent. Each participant is allowed to submit only one photograph. The entry fee is Rs 50.
Form Submission
Filling up the official entry form is mandatory. Forms will be available at the club premises from January 15, between 12 noon and 6 pm.
Technical Guidelines
To maintain authenticity, a strict no-editing policy has been enforced. Only basic cropping and minor brightness or contrast adjustments are permitted. Any form of digital manipulation, use of generative AI tools, heavy filters, watermarks, logos, borders, or date stamps is prohibited.
Submission Process (Two Mandatory Steps)
Step 1: Digital Submission
Participants must email the original image file with EXIF data (images shared via WhatsApp or Facebook will not be accepted) to dpc.dgp01@gmail.com.
The email subject should read: “My Click Entry [Your Name]”.
The body of the email must include the participant’s name, phone number, and a suitable caption for the photograph.
The deadline for digital submission is January 20, 2026 (midnight). Google Drive links may be used for large files.
Step 2: Physical Submission
A hard copy print of the photograph must be submitted in A4 size on either glossy or matte paper.
On the back of the print, participants must write their name, mobile number, and caption using only a pencil. Use of ink pens is not allowed.
Hard copies must be submitted at the Durgapur Press Club office by January 21, 2026, 6 pm.
Selection and Awards
The first 100 entries, selected on a first-come-first-served basis and after technical scrutiny, will be displayed at the exhibition.
Winners will be announced on January 24, 2026, at 4 pm.
Prizes include:
First Prize: Rs 3,000
Second Prize: Rs 2,000
Third Prize: Rs 1,000
Viewers’ Choice Award (selected through audience voting)
In addition, the best five photographs will be published in the club’s magazine ‘Alo’.
While copyright of the photographs will remain with the photographers, the club reserves the right to use the images for promotional purposes. Submitted photographs will not be returned. In cases where identifiable individuals appear in a photograph, obtaining consent is the sole responsibility of the photographer.
