IndiGo starts direct Durgapur–Varanasi flight strengthening regional connectivity

Newz Desk, Durgapur :IndiGo has launched a direct flight between Durgapur and Varanasi, expanding air connectivity from Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport (Durgapur Airport). The inaugural flight received an enthusiastic response from passengers on October 28.
The service will operate three days a week: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. This will enhance travel options for passengers from surrounding areas including Asansol, Bardhaman, Bankura, Birbhum, Bolpur, Dhanbad, Durgapur, and Raniganj. The new route is also expected to benefit pilgrims, students, and tourists, while fostering trade, cultural exchange, and regional development between West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
According to airport authorities, the new Durgapur–Varanasi–Durgapur service reflects IndiGo’s commitment, along with Bengal Aerotropolis’ efforts, to improve regional accessibility through reliable, on-time, and convenient travel. A spokesperson of the Durgapur Airport (KNIA) also expressed gratitude for the continued support of stakeholders in promoting regional connectivity initiatives.
