Bandhan Bank Donates 10 Ambulances Nationwide, Strengthens Emergency Healthcare in West Bengal

Newz Desk, Durgapur: Bandhan Bank has expanded its healthcare-focused CSR outreach by donating 10 fully equipped ambulances to medical institutions across India, including three in West Bengal. The initiative, announced earlier during the Bank’s 10th Foundation Day celebrations, has now been successfully implemented, marking a significant step toward improving emergency medical access in underserved regions.

In West Bengal, ambulances have been handed over to Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata, The Institute of Child Health, Kolkata, and Ashadeep Trust, Murshidabad. These units are equipped to support critical-care transport and are expected to bolster emergency response systems for both urban and rural populations.

Beyond the state, Bandhan Bank has distributed ambulances to leading healthcare facilities and social service organisations in Bengaluru, Ahmednagar, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Delhi, Jaipur, Akbarpur, and Jalandhar, reinforcing the Bank’s nationwide commitment to strengthening medical infrastructure.

Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege,” said Partha Pratim Sengupta, MD & CEO of Bandhan Bank. “With this initiative, we seek to enhance emergency medical response and support institutions serving diverse communities. Our commitment to inclusive development goes beyond banking—it is about enabling healthier, more resilient societies across India.”

Bandhan Bank’s CSR programs currently reach over 25 lakh families across 82 districts in 14 states, with initiatives spanning healthcare, education, livelihoods, and climate resilience. A strong emphasis on women and rural communities remains central to the Bank’s social impact strategy.

By contributing to emergency medical readiness and empowering hospitals with better mobility and response tools, the Bank continues to strengthen community-focused development and reinforce its role as a socially responsible financial institution.
