Newz Desk, Durgapur: More than 200 pharmacy faculty members, principals and senior academicians from across West Bengal participated in a one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the effective implementation of the revised B.Pharm Syllabus 2026 in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The programme was jointly organised by the IQ City Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Durgapur, and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). A special message from PCI Vice-President Shri Jashubhai Hirabhai Chaudhari was conveyed during the programme, highlighting the need to equip pharmacy educators with the skills and knowledge required to implement the revised curriculum effectively.
The programme was attended by Guests of Honour Dr Papiya Chakraborty, Officer on Detailment, West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Kolkata, and Prof. (Dr.) Uttam Sharma, Principal, Institute of Pharmacy, Jalpaiguri and OSD, WBUHS. They stressed the importance of teachers in implementing NEP 2020 and strengthening the quality of pharmacy education.
Technical sessions covered several key areas of the revised curriculum. Prof. (Dr.) Saleemulla Khan, Central Council Member, PCI, provided an overview of the B.Pharm Syllabus 2026. Prof. (Dr.) Raja Chakraborty, Principal, Institute of Pharmacy, Assam Don Bosco University, spoke on Outcome-Based Education and its implementation under NEP 2020.

A session on the integration of Artificial Intelligence into the B.Pharm curriculum and pharmacy education was conducted by Prof. (Dr.) Saikat Sen, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Assam down town University, Guwahati.
The FDP concluded with a collective emphasis on curriculum implementation, outcome-based learning, technological integration and academic excellence in pharmacy education.
