Newz Desk, Durgapur, April 27, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises, Punjab National Bank (PNB) Durgapur Circle Office conducted an MSME outreach program at ICAI Bhawan in Durgapur. The initiative focused on improving access to finance, spreading awareness about banking solutions, and building closer ties with the business community.
The event was attended by Bibhu Prasad Mahapatra, Executive Director of PNB, who underlined the crucial role MSMEs play in driving India’s economic momentum. He noted that the sector contributes significantly to GDP and employment, and assured that the bank remains focused on offering timely credit, simplified procedures, and need-based financial products to support entrepreneurs.

Senior officials including Circle Head Satyendra Mishra, Zonal Manager Sanjiv Kumar, President of Durgapur Chamber of Commerce Chandan Datta, and ICAI Durgapur Chairman Sumeet Agarwal were present at the session. The program saw participation from around 50 MSME representatives, entrepreneurs, chartered accountants, and CA students.
A key highlight of the event was the disbursement of MSME loans worth ₹112.154 crore to 17 beneficiaries in the presence of the Executive Director. The session also featured detailed discussions on credit schemes, government-backed initiatives, and digital banking services tailored for small businesses.
Participants received guidance on loan procedures, documentation requirements, and financial planning, while also getting an opportunity to directly interact with bank officials and resolve their queries.
