Newz Desk, Durgapur 28th January 2026: The two-day 11th Annual Sports Meet of IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences, Durgapur, concluded successfully at the IQ City playground, showcasing energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.
A total of 320 students took part in the meet, competing in 15 indoor and outdoor events. The sports meet was inaugurated on January 27 by N. A. Samdani-DIGP, CRPF Durgapur, along with Nirmal Saha-National Bench Press Champion and Prof. Dr. B. Camala-Principal IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences, Durgapur

Students, divided into four houses namely Daffodil, Sakura, Veronica, and Zinnia, participated enthusiastically in a wide range of events including 100 and 200 metre races, discus throw, shot put, javelin throw, kabaddi, snake race, and several other competitions.
N. A. Samdani-DIGP CRPF, Durgapur, encouraged students to imbibe discipline, resilience, and a spirit of teamwork through sports, stating that these qualities are essential not only on the field but also in professional and personal life.
Nirmal Saha-National Bench Press Champion, motivated the participants to maintain physical fitness and mental strength, emphasizing that regular sports and exercise build confidence, endurance, and a winning attitude. He urged students to pursue excellence with dedication and perseverance.
Prof. Dr. B. Camala, IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences, Durgapur ,Principal advised students to balance academics with sports, highlighting that physical activity plays a vital role in shaping well-rounded healthcare professionals. She appreciated the students’ enthusiastic participation and encouraged them to carry the values of sportsmanship, fairness, and unity in their future careers.
The event not only highlighted athletic talent but also promoted discipline, physical fitness, and team spirit among future healthcare professionals. The sports meet concluded with prize distribution and appreciation for participants and organisers, marking a memorable and spirited celebration of sports at the institute.
