Newz Desk, Durgapur: The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur, under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, inaugurated the grand “Academic–Industry & Alumni Interface Summit 2025,” popularly known as the AI-AI Summit 2025. The two-day national event is themed “Industry 4.0” with the sub-theme “The Engine of Developed India 2027.”
The summit was graced by the Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal, Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose, as the Chief Guest, and the Hon’ble Minister of State for Education, Government of India, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, as the Guest of Honour.

Several eminent academicians and industry leaders participated in the event, including Prof. Sukumar Mishra, Director, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad; Prof. Goutam Sutradhar, Director, NIT Jamshedpur; Dr. N. C. Murmu, Director, CSIR–CMERI, Durgapur; Aditya Kumar Sinha, Executive Director, C-DAC Mumbai; Prof. S. K. Pal, Dean (R&D), IIT Kharagpur; Dr. Mou Sen, Joint Director, MSME; Ratan Kesh, COO and Executive Director, Bandhan Bank; and Surajit Mishra, Acting Director, ISP-DSP, Durgapur. All distinguished guests were warmly welcomed and felicitated.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose emphasized that a strong alliance between education and industry will serve as the true engine of a developed India. He noted that innovation is the driving force that will propel the nation towards global leadership.
In his address, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar stated that Industry 4.0 is not merely a technological revolution but a decisive step towards India’s self-reliance. He added that such summits play a vital role in inspiring the younger generation towards research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The two-day summit features panel discussions on key topics such as Industry 4.0, IoT, semiconductor and quantum innovations, e-mobility and green energy, MSME development, and the vision of Developed India 2027. The event also includes exhibitions of student and startup prototypes, technical displays, PAIR (Partnership for Accelerated Innovation and Research) interactive sessions, and the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with major industries and research institutions.
Additional highlights include the felicitation of alumni entrepreneurs, industry–alumni–student networking sessions, and cultural programs that foster dialogue, collaboration, and unity.
Through its diverse initiatives, the AI-AI Summit 2025 is establishing itself as a dynamic platform that integrates academic excellence, research innovation, and industrial collaboration. It aims to empower youth to actively participate in building Developed India 2027 through the transformative power of Industry 4.0.
