Newz Desk, Debasis Banerjee, Bardhaman: A voluntary blood donation camp was held at Kanakpur Primary School in the Berugram area of Jamalpur, Purba Bardhaman, organised by the ‘Sahajjer Hat’ society.
The camp, held on Saturday (August 30), saw 70 volunteers from neighbouring villages come forward to donate blood. Alongside the blood donation drive, the event also carried an environmental message. Members of ‘Sahajjer Hat’ conducted a door-to-door campaign in Kanakpur village, collecting plastic waste to raise awareness about its harmful effects.

In a symbolic gesture, every blood donor was gifted a sapling, promoting the importance of a healthy and green future. Saplings were also distributed to elderly residents, emphasising the value of plantation and environmental care.
Sharing his belief, Sk Rajesh, a member of ‘Sahajjer Hat’ said, “Donating blood means giving life, and planting trees means protecting the future.” He mentioned that these combined initiatives carry a powerful message of humanity and environmental responsibility.
