Newz Desk, Durgapur: Mera Yuva Bharat, Durgapur, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, is set to organise a Cluster of Block-Level Sports events on January 24 and 25, 2026. The programme will be held at Rakshitpur, Durgapur-12, in collaboration with the Rakshitpur Adivasi Nabajagran Club, Kanksa Block.
The two-day sports meet aims to encourage youth participation in organised sports and promote fitness, teamwork and discipline among young people. Youth aged between 15 and 29 years, residing in Paschim Bardhaman district, are eligible to take part in the events.
The competition will feature both group and individual events. Group events include football for men and kabaddi for women. Individual events will comprise 200-metre run for men, slow cycling for men, badminton for women, and 200-metre run for women.
Organisers said the initiative is part of a broader effort to identify sporting talent at the grassroots level while creating a platform for young people to engage in healthy and constructive activities.
